Background
David ODB Baker was born on July 14, 1972, in Connecticut. He got a finance degree from Auburn and became a business salesman. He lived with his wife and daughter in Texas. In the 1990s, he was introduced to poker during his college years. He used to play Pot Limit Omaha in New Orleans and eventually started playing three times a week. Finally, in 2004, he became a full-time professional poker player.

Baker started with cash games but later shifted to tournaments where he excelled. His first live-in-the-money game was in January 2004, and two years later, he won. He has cashed five times in the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and was even close to winning the bracelet in the 2008 WSOP.
