Jennifer Harman Traniello is a professional poker player from the United States. She is known for her expertise in cash games and high-stakes tournaments. Background
Jennifer was born on 29th November 1964, and was raised in Reno, Nevada. She started playing poker for real money in 1972, at the age of eight. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a degree in Biology. In the mid-1980s, Jennifer turned pro and began climbing up the ladder from $50-100 limits to $100-200, then on to $400-800 and much higher. Today, she plays in the highest-limit games in the world and is one of the game's most feared and respected players.
Poker Career
Harman won her first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in 2000 at the prestigious No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball Event. She won her second WSOP bracelet in 2002 at the $5K Limit Holdem event (in a field that also included poker giants like Mimi Tran, Humberto Brenes, and Allen Cunningham).
Jennifer Harman authored the Limit Holdem chapter for Super System II, one of the first books on poker strategies. She is also the only woman who regularly plays in the "Big Game," the high-stakes cash game at the Bellagio, Las Vegas.
She was also an active participant in "The Corporation", a group of high-stakes poker players who played Andy Beal, a Texas-based billionaire businessman, for limits of up to $100,000/$200,000.
Her total live winnings are $2,924,146, of which $982,358 have come from cashes at the WSOP. Although Harman has succeeded in poker tournaments , most of her wealth and prestige have come from playing high-stakes cash games.
