David Anthony Williams was born on June 9, 1980, in Arlington, Texas. He attended the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science and a two-year early college entrance program at the University of North Texas. Later, he switched to economics and attended Southern Methodist University.

William had success in the 2004 World Series of Poker (WSOP). He won the buy-in from an online poker site and made it to the main event's final table. He finished second and won $3.5 million. He played in the Borgata Open World Poker Tour and finished second, winning $573,800.
