Erik Seidel is a noted American professional poker player who has won many titles and bracelets. Because of his exceptional and impressive poker strategy, 8 WSOP bracelets and a WPT win, Erik Seidel was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2010.

Erik Seidel was born on November 6, 1959, in the fascinating New York City and is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada, US. His poker career is interesting. Like many other poker players, Erik was originally a tournament backgammon player. He developed his interest in poker only after he started playing the stock market as a full-time engagement poker, a hobby at that time. Seidel likes to play tennis, listen to music, and play online poker during his leisure time.
Erik Seidel Poker Career
Erik Seidel played his first key tournament in the 1988 World Series of Poker Main Event, where he finished as runner-up. The exciting game was also featured in the popular movie Rounders. In 1999, he again made it to the WSOP main event final table but was eventually defeated by Noel Furlong.
1992 proved lucky for Erik as he won his first WSOP bracelet. His latest WSOP victory was in 2007. Seidel claimed his first WPT victory in the 2008 WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic by winning a whopping $992,890. In 2007, Seidel participated in the Aussie Millions $100k event but could only manage second place. The following year, he again participated in the Aussie Millions $10k main event and ended in second place. He continued in second place at the National Heads-Up Poker Championship in 2010.
The year 2011 proved to be lucky for Erik Seidel as he won various tournaments:
- In January 2011, he participated in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller Event and the buy-in Aussie Millions tournament.
- In February, he won the LA Poker Classic. ( High Roller Event).
- In March 2011, he became the National Heads-Up Poker Championship champion.
- In April 2011, he came second in the WPT title at the Hollywood Open.
- In May 2011, he won the $100K Super High Roller event at the WPT World Championship.
- In August 2011, he scored second in the $20,000 buy-in 6-Max No Limit Hold'em tournament.
So, throughout 2011, his winnings exceeded $16,600,000; interestingly, $4,352,051 was won at the WSOP.
