Jamie Gold is an American television producer, poker player, and talent agent from Malibu, California. He won the 2006 WSOP Main event and owns the production entertainment company Buzznation.
Background
James M. Gold was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 25, 1969. He moved to Manhattan with his mother. He was named Jamie M. Usher, but his name was changed to Jamie M. Gold following his mother’s divorce and remarriage to Dr. Robert Gold. He moved to Paramus, New Jersey, with his mother and second husband. He graduated from Paramus High School in 1987, got a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York in 1991, and studied entertainment law at UCLA.

Gold's mother was a poker player, and his grandfather was a Gin Rummy champion. His interest in poker grew after working with former WSOP Main Event winners Johnny Chan and Chris Moneymaker. Chan started mentoring Gold in poker. In 2005, he won the no-limit Texas hold 'em tournament, taking $54,225 home. Following one year, he cashed out in seven events.
At the 2006 WSOP, he won the $10,000 No Limit Texas Holdem tournament and took home $12,000,000. His unorthodox playing style also became a point of discussion and sparked controversies.
He participated in various televised poker events, including Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker. He played in the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) but got eliminated on the first day. However, he played in the 2007 Main event and finished 35th.
