Background
Liu was born in Taiwan on April 10, 1965, and moved to Peoria, Illinois, to pursue her master's. She completed her computer engineering studies at Bradley University and worked as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. While working, she discovered poker but only played once she came to the U.S.
JJ Liu Poker Career
Liu started playing poker in 1996 at San Jose’s Bay 101 casino, winning over $2 million. She is the third woman in the Taiwanese all-time money. In 2012, she was in the Poker Hall of Fame in the women's category. She has won the Borgata Fall Poker Open and APPT Macau. In 207, she won her career’s largest cash. She finished second in the WPT Bay 101 Championship and won $600,000. In 2021, she made it to the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Ladies Championship. She finished fifth and took $26,458 home.
