Kara Scott is a Canadian-British poker player, Journalist, and TV personality known for presenting poker's biggest shows. She was previously a brand ambassador of Partypoker and, in 2016, became the brand ambassador for 888 Poker.
Background
Kara Scott was born in 1975 in Alberta, Canada, and moved to the UK in 1999. In 2009, she moved to California and in 2013, she moved to Parma, Italy, after marrying Giovanni Rizzo, an Italian poker player.

Kara has participated in several poker tournament broadcasts on Challenge and Five. In 2007, she played and won the Party Poker World Woman's Open; the following year, she won the Party Poker Sports Star Challenge.
In 2009, she finished second in the Irish Open and won €312,600. Her total live poker tournament earnings were over $550,000 the following year.
In the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP), she finished 104th in the $10,000 buy-in Main Event and won $41,816. She was the only woman who cashed in the 2008 and 2009 WSOP Main events.
In one of her interviews, she said, ‘I know a lot of people don't think I can play, and there are always going to be people who say I can't. But I have made the final of a female championship, I won a Sports Star Challenge, I went deep in the World Series of Poker Main Event, and now I've come second in the Irish Open.’
She joined Partypoker in January 2009, along with poker professionals Mike Sexton and Felipe "Mojave" Ramos. Through her blog, she announced that she would be leaving PartyPoker due to a lack of projects. In 2016, she joined 888poker as a brand ambassador.
Television Hosting
Kara Scott Paul Magriel and John Clark hosted the first televised backgammon series. In 2006, she hosted the first Backgammon World Series broadcast across Europe and Canada on Eurosport, Poker Channel Europe and Game TV.
She was the main host of Poker Night Live, immersed herself in poker media, and wrote a column in Flush. She has also published articles in Poker Player magazine and the poker media, ‘CardPlayer Magazine and PokerNews, ' documenting her poker journey.
Scott is the face of the Sky Poker on Sky Television channel 865, a dedicated poker channel launched in 2007. She was also the TV host of the European Poker Tour in 2007 and 2008. In August 2008, she announced that she was leaving Sky Poker.
Scott has also appeared in a movie titled Sucker Punch along with Danny John-Jules. In 2007, she lost a bet to Chris Tessaro and had to do commentary in a bunny suit. In 2010, she joined Gabe Kaplan as the GSN's High Stakes Poker co-host for its sixth season. She joined ESPN and covered the WSOP 2011 Main event as a sideline reporter.
