Phil Galfond is an American professional poker player known for winning three WSOP bracelets. He owns the real money poker site Run It Once Poker and a poker training site Run It Once Training.
Background
Phil Galfond was born in North Potomac, Maryland, on January 16, 1985. He attended Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He used to live in New York, where he installed a slide to access the two penthouse apartments. Phil married Farah Fath on 15th May 2015, and their son was born in December 2018.
Phil Galfond Poker Career
In 2006, Galfond played in the $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em and $2,500 Short-Handed No-Limit Hold'em and won $12,000. In 2008, he won the $5,000 PLO tournament at the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) for more than $800,000 in prize money.
In 2015, he played in the #29: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship, winning $224,383 and his second bracelet. Three years later, in 2018, he won his third bracelet in Event #60: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship, along with a cash prize of $567,788.
Online Poker
Phil Galfond has quite a name in the online poker circuit. He is known for playing high-stakes cash games, primarily $200/$400 stakes and above. His nicknames on Full Tilt Poker and Poker stars are OMGClayAiken and MrSweets28, respectively. With over $8 million in profit, he has been a successful online poker player.
World Poker Tour
Phil has two WPT in-the-money finished. In 2008, he finished 70th in the $25,000 buy-in World Poker Tour World Championship and won $39,570. Four years later, he played in the $10,000 buy-in WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic and finished 24th, taking $31,714 home.

Galfond Challenge
In 2019, Galfond challenged players to play high-stakes heads-up PLO. The challenge was divided into two parts: the first was open to PLO coaches, and the second was open to everyone. The game was played on Galfond’s poker site, Run It Once. The first six challengers were Bill Perkins, Brandon Adams, Chance Kornuth, Dan Jungleman Cates, ActionFreak, and VeniVidi1993. In addition to the money, the players had side bets for which they were competing.
