Melwani started playing in local tournaments and appeared in several events, including the India Poker Championship (IPC). In 2011, he won the ₹15,000 No Limit Hold'em event at the India Poker Series (IPS) Chapter 6 in Goa and won ₹275,000.
He later won the ₹15,000 No Limit Hold'em event at IPS Chapter 8 and took ₹75,000 home. In 2013, he went to Las Vegas to play in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and gain valuable experience. He continued winning cashes and made it to several final tables by playing in domestic tournaments.
In November 2017, he won the ₹20,000 Deep Turbo No Limit Hold'em event at the inaugural World Poker Tour (WPT) India series and took ₹420,000 home. The following year, he won the Gayle Storm 2.0 online tournament on Adda52 and took ₹1,144,786 home.
In July 2021, he finished sixth in the Turbo 1.5 LAC GTD (RE) tournament, winning ₹8,698.
