Background
Sam Farha was born on 23 February 1959 in Lebanon. His family moved to the U.S. after the civil war erupted in Lebanon in 1975. Farha got a degree in business administration from the University of Kansas. He also learned to play pool, ping-ball, and Pac-Man in college. He even earned money playing these games.
He then moved to Houston, Texas, where he was first introduced to poker, and shortly after that, he moved to Las Vegas to play professionally. After winning money, he eventually quit his job and moved to Vegas.
Sam Farha Poker Career
Sam finished second in the 2003 Poker Main Event World Series of Poker (WSOP) and won $1,300,000. On the second day of the game, he lost major to Barry Greenstein and left with 10% of the average stack. He was about to leave the game, but Barry Greenstein told him to stay and eventually lost the game.
In a rematch a few months later, Farha won.
