Shawn Sheikhan Poker Career
Sheikhan is known for his terrible table etiquette. In the 2005 WSOP, he got into a war of words with Mike Matusow after he slammed the table when he saw the flop in a hand he was not part of. He eventually got eliminated in 11th place and won $600,000.
He has also been involved in several car accidents; in one incident with Phil Hellmuth, Hellmuth refused to stop talking while Sheikhan was playing, though the entire table was conversing.
In 2006, at NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship, Sheikhan told Gus Hansen to throw away his cards as he got better cards; Sheikhan won $125,000 and lost to Ted Forrest in the finals. In the 2017 World Series of Poker (WSOP), Sheikhan finished third in the No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball event. He also won a Poker After Dark title and won $120,000.
Troubles
In 1999, Sheikhan was driving in heavy rain, lost control of the car, and collided with another vehicle. One of the passengers of that other car died.
Since nine, Sheikhan has been a resident alien and was arrested in Las Vegas for violating immigration status due to a 1995 sexual battery.
