Xuan Liu was born in China and lives in Canada. She has earned over $2 million in her career. Xuan Liu was a former poker ambassador for 888 poker and Natural8. She came fourth in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for $600,000, the largest cash of her career. A year before, in 2011, she finished third in the European Poker Tour Sanremo Main Event for $524,705.

Education

Liu attended the University of Waterloo. In her first year of college, she got a dealer’s license, and she worked two summers initially as a dealer and then as a floor supervisor at the Canadian National Exhibition charity casino. 

Her poker interest started affecting her grades, and she lost the full scholarship she had received to attend Waterloo. Instead of quitting poker, she began hosting games and inviting players like  Glen Chorny, Steve Paul, and Michael McDonald.

Poker Career

Xuan Liu was born in 1985 in Tian Jin, China. She started playing online games on Party Poker, Sit and Go and small stakes at local charity casinos. Her first live tournament circuit took place in 2007. However, she was not serious about this career until 2010.

In 2010, Xuan Liu made her first World Series of Poker (WSOP) money and finished 69th in the $1,000 Ladies Championship. In 2012, in a $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo tournament, she came close to earning her first bracelet, finished sixth place and took $29,985 home.

Apart from WSOP, Liu has appeared on the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT), World Poker Tour, Aussie Millions, Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT), and Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP). She also appeared in an episode of High Stakes Poker with Doyle Brunson and Tom Dwan.

From 2010 to 2017, she used to play under the name xx23xx and won $3 million.

She says, “From an outsider's perspective, it may seem glamorous, but poker is also mentally and physically draining. Poker is a hard way to make easy money. I don't know any pros that would recommend it for a living.”

In May 2024, she extended her contract with WPT Global to continue becoming their brand ambassador.
